This annual fall conference brings OFT local leaders together to discuss issues facing members and our professions, and strategies for strengthening our work with children. Members come from across Ohio to learn from each other and join in developing plans for how OFT supports and engages with locals on issues important to members. Register now.
OFT Executive Council members are expected to attend, as well as other leaders and members from each local.
This conference serves as the fall meeting for the OFT Executive Council and OFT Committees (Budget, Human Rights, Ed Issues, Legislative and School Finance, Higher Ed, PSRP and School Health Care Providers, Retirement and Communications).
The event opens 6 p.m. Sept. 28 with registration and session 7-9 p.m. followed by informal social time. Session resumes 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 29. Saturday workshops include:
- Connect database training - OFT Field Coordinator Kim Luther, OFT Comptroller Mark Lesser, Ambrose Tarrant (AFT)
- Conversation training - OFT Director of Legislation and Political Action Darold Johnson, OFT Field Coordinator Tom Rose
- Trauma training - Josephine Townes (Cleveland Heights), Heather Stambaugh (Greenon)
- Leadership Cohort (for local presidents) - President Cropper

OFT provides all workshop and session materials and hosts the evening reception, breakfast and lunch. Locals and/or members are responsible for overnight accommodations, if needed, and any other expenses. To get approval from your local for expenses, talk with your local president or officers.
