OFT members help improve resident educator program

OFT members are sharing their expertise to improve Resident Educator Resources and the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA).

Resident Educator Coordinators Terri Hook, a member of the Oregon Federation of Teachers, Local 1080, and OFT retiree Lorrie Kubaszewski met recently with representatives of Educopia, the company charged by the Ohio Department of Education to provide resources oversee RESA. They discussed pros and cons and conveyed ways to improve the process to make it more supportive and less compliance oriented.

As a result, a webinar was developed on Task 2 that is earning positive feedback. OFT members involved in the resident educator program, particularly those ready to take the RESA, are encouraged to review the webinar and other resources.
