SAVE THE DATE: The OFT Local Leaders Conference offers leadership development and skills training as well as the opportunity to gather with other union members to discuss current issues, plan local strategies and have fun through camaraderie.
This year's conference will focus on skills to engage membership around an issue. Participants will identify an issue, create a structure for engaging all members, identify potential outcomes, develop and practice an organizing message and develop "asks."
Locals should attempt to bring a team of members to the conference and should empower whoever participates to work on building a structure/plan that can be implemented in your local. Learn more.
Registration is free but registration is required to attend - the deadline to register is Sept. 11. Register now.
Local unions are required to provide transportation/travel expenses and hotel accommodations, if needed, for Friday evening.
Hotel reservations must be made by noon Sept. 9 to qualify for the discounted rate. Reservations can be made online or by calling 614-365-4500 - ask for the OFT Local Leaders Conference room block. The discounted rate is $99 ($116.33 with taxes included). Discounted valet parking is $12 per night.
