HB 438 allows for ESCs to facilitate the renewal of licenses for those teachers who are not currently working in a school or retired and would like to renew their licenses to do so through an LPDC. ESC of Northeast Ohio (ESCNEO) has put a process in place for educators working without a LPDC (non-employees).
The process and registration fee ($50/per educator, per five-year licensure cycle, regardless of the number of licenses the individual holds) allows educators to remain professionally licensed in a cost-effective, straight forward manner allowing for the exploration of professional learning opportunities that expand beyond the college coursework required in the past and build upon each educator’s experience and licensure area.
