More candidates earned OFT's endorsement for their pledge to support public education, public workers and the services that give everyone an opportunity to succeed.

Bill would end disparity between staff teaching college courses

(Columbus - March 5, 2013) Rep. Fred Strahorn (D-Dayton) and Sen. Nina Turner (D-Cleveland) Thursday will introduce a bill to end employment discrimination for graduate assistants and adjuncts at Ohio's public colleges and universities. The bill would remove an exemption from state law that prohibits these part-time employees from collective bargaining.

Teachers Convene to Set Policy for Union

The 2013 Ohio Federation of Teachers convention opens Feb. 21 with President Melissa Cropper's State of the Union address and a lobby activity with some 300 delegates meeting with legislators about public education.
