More than 50 OFT members from across the state participated in Education Lobby Days April 28 and May 12 at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus. Members were briefed, then sent to discuss the issues with their legislators.

The Ohio Federation of Teachers (OFT) has endorsed candidates in 104 races from president to state Board of Education and 1 statewide issue. Endorsements were based on a candidate’s stance on programs and policies that support public education, public employees and working families. The Legislative Education Groups is a member-to-member education and mobilization project sponsored by the Ohio Federation of Teachers. The goal of LEGs is to develop a rapid response to policy-making decisions affecting our members at the state and federal levels. Local officers will select LEGs Building Liaisons who will implement a structure that generates responses and work with the local LEGs coordinator to coordinate LEGs activities in the building.
