Draft Common Core Standards Available for Public Comment

The Council of Chief State School Officers and the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices released draft common core standards for English language arts and mathematics. Ohio participates in the nationwide Common Core Standards Initiative, a move to create national standards for the United States. Once the standards are finalized, states will be able to determine if they would like to sign on to use them.

 

The release of the draft standards begins the public comment period, which ends Oct. 21. To review the draft standards and/or provide comments, visit www.corestandards.org.
